Musical Storytelling and Writing Workshop with Ken Waldman

This is a concert and a workshop rolled into one!

This event will start with a writing workshop at 4pm.

FOUR WRITING PROMPTS: THE BEGINNING OF FOUR NEW STORIES OR POEMS

The more you write, the luckier you get–and each time you start a piece, there’s an opportunity to get luckier than ever. The trick is getting started. Here, you’ll not only begin four new pieces, but will learn strategies to begin many more. The 2-hour session is open to writers of all levels and experience.

At 5pm Ken will perform his original old time fiddle tunes from his large body of work

Ken will share work from some of his sixteen poetry collections, his new novel, and original and traditional Appalachian-style fiddle tunes from his nine albums. Ken’s shows are literary readings, concerts, and storytelling experiences rolled into one. He is a former college professor with an MFA in Creative Writing who has been a visiting writer at hundreds of colleges, universities, and schools in 35 states. Since 1995 Ken has been a full-time touring artist, appearing in a wide range of venues for a wide range of audiences.
